Misama Physical Therapists

Missy Gallow, Physical Therapist
  • Owner: PT, DPT

Dr. Missy Gallow has been working in the field of orthopedics since graduating from Dayton University in 2012. After having twins – Dr. Missy developed a passion for bridging the gap between pelvic health and the world of orthopedics and chronic pain. Believing in integrating all of the body systems into her treatment sessions. She has learned that the musculoskeletal system is vastly intertwined with other body systems. She believes that pain is not just a physical problem – but a WHOLE body problem, including emotional and mental health. She strives to help her patients make lasting changes – not just for their body but for their life. She has continued her pelvic health education with numerous courses focusing on pregnant and postpartum health.

She is dedicated to educating women about the changes that occur during pregnancy and common postpartum patterns that have a lasting effect on a woman’s body. She has a passion for working with active women (and men), whether that looks like Crossfit, Pilates, Yoga, HIIT, running, weekend soccer or playing with your kids. A quote she loves is “Train harder than life, so that life is easier” Dr. Missy is working hard to bridge the gap in prenatal and postpartum care and getting women the knowledge they need to have an optimal birth and avoid chronic pain throughout their lifespan. She utilizes manual techniques and dry needling to address pain and focuses on rebuilding the “mind-body” connection. Effectively continuing on to rebuild strength, stability and mobility in the body for overall function. Her hope is that every woman will have the resources they need early on to avoid chronic pain throughout their postpartum years. “Once you are postpartum, you are always postpartum.” When not in the clinic, she can be found outside in the sunshine, her garden, playing with her kids and cooking with her husband.

Bridget O'Brien , Physical Therapist
  • PT , DPT

Dr. Bridget O’Brien graduated from Duquesne University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2016. She began her career in the world of orthopedics and sports medicine following a collegiate soccer career, helping patients return to their athletic goals. Her interest in pelvic health began during her first pregnancy during which she was unable to exercise due to medical concerns and pelvic pain, followed by a birth injury that led her to being a patient.

Bridget earned her multiple pelvic health certifications while undergoing treatment herself, realizing first-hand the incredible difference pelvic floor physical therapy can make in a person’s life. She treats all female pelvic health conditions, including bowel, bladder, sexual dysfunction, pregnancy/postpartum, pelvic pain, and diastasis recti. She delivers a blend of specialty orthopedic and pelvic floor care to each patient, including education, exercise, manual therapy, and integrative dry needling. She also holds certifications in running gait analysis and pregnancy/postpartum corrective exercise.

Bridget’s favorite part of being a pelvic health physical therapist is the immense pride she feels for every person who walks through the door. As a patient first, she realizes how difficult it can be for someone to start their journey into the world of pelvic health, and is so grateful for each and every person who takes the leap to improve their physical health.

When Bridget isn’t in the clinic, she loves to spend time with her sons, husband, and dog anywhere she can outdoors. She is a sports lover (Go Bucks, Go Bills, Go Crew!) She loves to kayak, hike, & is a coffee (caramel latte) enthusiast.

Ashley Wright , Physical Therapist
  • PT, DPT

For Dr. Ashley Wright, pelvic health is a calling that grew from frustration with how women are too often overlooked in healthcare, from their reproductive years, to the postpartum period, and then into perimenopause, menopause and beyond. After years of working in outpatient orthopedics, Ashley transitioned into pelvic health to provide women with much needed guidance and support in their health journeys.

Ashley blends her orthopedic expertise with specialized pelvic floor training to treat the whole body, not just the pelvis. She believes that in order to heal effectively, we have to take into consideration the mechanics of spine and rib cage all the way down to the feet, in addition to nervous system regulation, diet, exercise, and sleep. Her approach is rooted in listening, educating, and creating a safe space for conversations that are often considered taboo. She believes a patient’s entire story matters, and loves helping people move from discomfort and uncertainty to confidence and strength.

She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Dayton in 2014. Her career was inspired in part by rehabbing her own gymnastics related injuries. Now, she brings a movement-based, root cause driven approach to her treatment because healing is never just about one muscle or one symptom.

Outside the clinic, Ashley enjoys life with her husband and pets. She loves being outdoors, traveling (especially if she can scuba dive), gardening, running and reading. She’s a pizza and red wine enthusiast and thinks few things are better than a slice of pepperoni and a perfectly chilled glass of red!
