Dr. Missy is extremely knowledgeable and helped me understand my weaknesses/limitations postpartum. She was a vital part of my returning to run/high intensity workouts and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent pelvic floor therapist!

I have had such a wonderful experience with Amanda. She was such a valuable person in my postpartum recovery and beyond. It has been well worth the investment in my health!

Elizabeth R.

I've been working with Amanda since my second trimester and throughout my postpartum recovery. She helped me stay strong during my pregnancy, alleviating pains I had been feeling, and preparing for labor. Amanda was amazing during my postpartum recovery helping me reconnect with my core, and taking care of my C-section scar. She helped me achieve my postpartum goals of returning back to the gym, and I feel great after having my son.

Anais L.

Excellent Physical Therapist!!! Helped me set up a plan to work through a specific injury. Feeling great now. Amanda is tremendously smart and good at what she does!

Andy R. Male Client

Amanda did a wonderful job explaining, to me and my partner, different exercises to help with labor. She made us both feel at ease and empowered to advocate for what we wanted in the hospital!

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

No! In the state of Ohio we can see you via direct access law, which means patients can be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist without needing a practitioner or healthcare provider referral. However, we are happy to collaborate with any other healthcare professionals you are working with to ensure the best care possible.

You will work 1:1 with your physical therapist for your entire session. Treatment slots are never double booked, nor will you work with an assistant or aide.

Your pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that form the floor of your pelvis. They play a role with bladder, bowel, and sexual function. In addition, they help to support your organs and work with your hip and core muscles to stabilize your trunk. Whether you have never had kids, are in your child bearing years, or transitioning through menopause, if you are having pain in your back, pelvis, or hip or are experiencing bladder, bowel, or sexual issues that are decreasing your quality of life you are a candidate for pelvic floor physical therapy. Pelvic floor therapists require specialized training to be able to evaluate and treat the pelvic floor muscles, but because these muscles are trainable, similar to all other muscles in our body, we create a plan to improve the function of the pelvic floor muscles allowing resolution of symptoms.

No! We believe in preventative care and changing the model of Pelvic PT as a routine thing (think “I go to the dentist twice a year even when my teeth don’t hurt”)

We love to see pregnant women! Early intervention is key for preventing the common pelvic floor dysfunctions from happening (incontinence, prolapse, diastasis recti, pelvic pain). We help women learn how to manage their growing body and change or modify physical activity. We also help women learn positions and techniques to aid in an optimal birth and minimize tearing and trauma to their body

Definitely, it’s a misconception that you have to have had kids to have symptoms related to your pelvic floor. FALSE
